Our story began in August 2018, when Holly “accidentally” wandered into Dan’s 25th birthday party at Hellenika in Nobby’s. Was it fate? Was it a coincidence? Whatever it was, something sparked and neither of us forgot it.

Life carried on, with Dan living over in Croatia and Holly floating between university life and travelling whenever she could. Then one night, the universe decided it was time for a reunion. Dan was at Pink Monkey, a local bar in Burleigh, with his mates when he spotted Holly through the window at Justin Lane, the bar next door. At that exact moment, Holly saw him too. Dan said, “Let’s go over there,” while Holly told her friends, “Quick Dan is there… Let’s go.” We walked toward each other… like a rom-com, just with better cocktails.

By November 2019, we were officially together and four weeks later Danny had moved into Holly’s Broadbeach apartment. It didn’t take long to realise we were each other’s favourite place to come home to. Over the years, we’ve shared a love for adventure and travel, exploring more than 20 countries together. collecting memories, stories and far too many passport stamps along the way. In early 2022, we took our biggest leap yet and moved to Croatia together for Dan’s business. Two magical summers on the water that made our hearts and memories fuller than we ever expected.

Then came May 30th, 2024. On our way back to Croatia, Dan booked a stopover at the InterContinental Double Bay in sydney. The very first hotel we stayed at together, years ago, when our story was just beginning. Dan turned the courtyard into a fairy tale with endless flowers, glowing candles, a violinist and a photographer hiding in the wings. With shaky hands and a very full heart, Dan asked and Holly said yes (with happy tears and zero hesitation).

A few months later, on November 16th, 2024, we celebrated five amazing years together with our engagement party, FIVE + FOREVER. A night full of laughter, champagne and surrounded by everyone who’s been part of our story. By the time we say “I do” on 8 June 2026 in Dubrovnik, we will have been together for nearly eight years. Celebrating a love as enduring as stone and as infinite as the sea.
